dc.description.abstract	La cuarta revolución industrial ha cambiado la forma en la cual el mundo opera, desde como se concibe la tecnología hasta la forma en la que las fabricas ejecutan sus procesos, por tal motivo nace un concepto Industria 4.0, concepto que trae asociado trae nuevas tecnologías y por ende nuevas formas de llevar a cabo tareas. Por tal motivo, este proyecto tiene como objetivo realizar una caracterización de competencias específicas para el área de dirección de operaciones en la formación de nuevos ingenieros industriales bajo el marco de la cuarta revolución industrial. Para ello se realizó una revisión de literatura en bases de datos especializadas para definir aspectos relevantes, conceptos y herramientas de la I4.0 en la dirección de operaciones. Posteriormente, se realizó una búsqueda web sobre las mejores consultorías en dirección de operaciones para determinar qué herramientas emplean y que áreas de la dirección de operaciones tratan en las organizaciones. Seguido a esto, se realizó un análisis de las 5 mejores universidades a nivel mundial en el programa de ingeniería Industrial y las 5 mejores universidades a nivel nacional en esta misma carrera, y se determinó qué competencias afines a la temática adquirirían sus egresados al finalizar su etapa de pregrado. Y finalmente se definieron las competencias que los ingenieros industriales deben obtener al finalizar su pregrado; competencias que fueron validadas por los docentes del área de dirección de operaciones de la Escuela de Estudios Industriales y Empresariales, adscrita a la Universidad Industrial de Santander.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The fourth industrial revolution has changed the way in which the world operates, from how technology is conceived to the way in which factories execute their processes, for this reason a concept Industry 4.0 is born, a concept that brings associated with it new technologies and therefore new ways of carrying out tasks. For this reason, this project aims to characterize specific competencies for the area of operations management in the training of new industrial engineers under the framework of the fourth industrial revolution. For this purpose, a literature review was carried out in specialized databases to define relevant aspects, concepts and tools of the I4.0 in operations management. Subsequently, a web search was conducted on the best consulting firms in operations management to determine what tools they use and what areas of operations management they deal with in organizations. Following this, an analysis was made of the 5 best universities worldwide in the Industrial Engineering program and the 5 best universities nationally in this same career, and it was determined which competencies related to the subject would be acquired by their graduates at the end of their undergraduate stage. And finally, the competencies that industrial engineers should obtain at the end of their undergraduate studies were defined; competencies that were validated by the professors of the operations management area of the School of Industrial and Business Studies, attached to the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
