dc.description.abstractLa presente tesis de maestría se plantea en una zona ubicada entre los municipios de Pailitas y Curumaní, departamento del Cesar, en zona de influencia del sistema de Fallas Bucaramanga - Santa Marta con un área superficial aproximada de 63,36 km2, donde la ANH ubicó pozos exploratorios, uno de los cuales fue asignado para la realización del presente trabajo de investigación. El área se encuentra ubicada al norte de Colombia, en el extremo septentrional de la cuenca del Valle Medio del Magdalena, limita con las cuencas del Valle Inferior del Magdalena (Sub-cuenca de Plato) y Sub-cuenca Cesar, mientras que el basamento Paleozoico cercano aflora en los sectores vecinos del Macizo de Santander y serranía de Perijá. Se presume que el pozo de estudio se encuentra en el Alto de Chimichagua que limita las tres cuencas mencionadas. Con base en la información geológica existente en la zona de estudio se plantea un sistema petrolífero que funciona especialmente en rocas pre-Cretácicas. La roca generadora estaría ubicada en cuencas aledañas, el reservorio y sello estarían en rocas del Jurásico. La trampa sería de tipo estructural y la migración estaría asociada a las zonas de debilidad que conecta con las cuencas vecinas. Como apoyo del sistema petrolífero, estudios previos realizados por la ANH en el pozo ANH-VMM-WP271-1X encontraron evidencias de gas natural (C1, C2) con valores entre 100 1000 ppm (ANH, 2016) que se reportan a una profundidad mayor de 1800 ft (en unidades Pre-Cretácicas).
dc.description.abstractenglishThis master's thesis is presented in an area located between the municipalities of Pailitas and Curumaní, department of Cesar, in the area of influence of the Bucaramanga - Santa Marta Fallas system with an approximate surface area of 63.36 km2, where the ANH located exploratory wells, one of which was assigned to carry out this research work. The area is located in northern Colombia, at the northern end of the Middle Magdalena Valley basin, it borders the Lower Magdalena Valley (Sub-Basin of Plato) and Sub-Basin Cesar basins, while the Paleozoic basement near outcrops in the neighboring sectors of the Massif of Santander and mountain range of Perijá. It is presumed that the study well is located in the Alto de Chimichagua that limits the three mentioned basins. Based on the existing geological information in the study area, an oil system is proposed that works especially in pre-Cretaceous rocks. The generating rock would be located in nearby basins, the reservoir and seal would be in Jurassic rocks. The trap would be structural in nature and migration would be associated with areas of weakness that connect with neighboring basins. In support of the oil system, previous studies conducted by the ANH in the ANH-VMM-WP271-1X well found evidence of natural gas (C1, C2) with values between 100 - 1000 ppm (ANH, 2016) that are reported at a depth greater than 1800 ft (in Pre-Cretaceous units).
