dc.description.abstractEl presente documento aborda la prostitución ejercida por mujeres adultas mayores en Bucaramanga, debido a que no se cuenta con suficiente información respecto al tema surgió la propuesta de realizar un seminario de investigación el cual se desarrolló mediante once sesiones, dirigidas a abordar aspectos como la realidad psicosocial, familiar y económica de estas mujeres. De lo anterior se pudo hallar que el contexto social, cultural y familiar influye en las percepciones personales que estas mujeres poseen, así como la postura de aceptación o de rechazo que adopten las personas a su alrededor; además, la connotación social del envejecimiento y las condiciones objetivas y subjetivas que experimenta la mujer inciden en su autoconcepto y en la calidad de su vejez. Conforme a las leyes y programas a favor de la población de personas mayores, se tiene que, aunque estos existen, no son ejecutados de manera regular. Por ende, se considera que, si se le otorga la atención debida a este fenómeno social, se puede trabajar en la prevención y el restablecimiento de derechos que permita el fortalecimiento de la dignidad humana de estas mujeres, reduciendo la probabilidad de que se opte por la prostitución como un medio de vida.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis document deals with prostitution exercised by elderly women in Bucaramanga. Due to the lack of information on the subject, a research seminar was proposed, which was developed through eleven sessions, aimed at addressing aspects such as the psychosocial, family and economic reality of these women. From the above, it was found that the social, cultural and family context influences the personal perceptions that these women have, as well as the posture of acceptance or rejection adopted by the people around them; in addition, the social connotation of aging and the objective and subjective conditions experienced by women affect their self-concept and the quality of their old age. According to the laws and programs in favor of the elderly population, although they exist, they are not implemented on a regular basis. Therefore, it is considered that, if due attention is given to this social phenomenon, it is possible to work on prevention and the restoration of rights that allow the strengthening of the human dignity of these women, reducing the probability that they opt for prostitution as a means of livelihood.
