dc.description.abstractLa enseñanza de la geografía que se evidenció en los contenidos al interior del manual escolar titulado fiGeografía superior de Colombiafl, elaborado por el Hermano Justo Ramón miembro de las Escuelas Cristianas, privilegió una mirada sobre la naturaleza que se encargó de valorar a la vez que positiva, económicamente el suelo colombiano. Pero dichos contenidos no solamente emergieron al interior de esta Congregación, sino que pudimos evidenciar la existencia de una atmósfera que desde inicios del siglo XX con la Ley 39 de 1903 y posteriormente con la llegada al poder del liberal López Pumarejo, demostró el marcado interés que tenía el poder ejecutivo en lo referente a la descripción, apropiación y posterior explotación de las riquezas naturales del territorio colombiano. Se evidencia cómo el conocimiento geográfico fue una herramienta utilizada tanto por el estado colombiano, así como por la Congregación lasallista para incentivar la creación de unos sentimientos de filia e identidad nacional. Al complemento de una visión sobre el territorio colombiano, igualmente se elaboraron ciertas concepciones sobre la población del mismo. Fue claro el propósito de sobrevalorar positivamente todo aquello que proviniera del elemento español y la conquista, mientras la mirada sobre el aborigen colombiano y la población venida de África en condición de esclavos, privilegió un proceso de opacamiento y subvaloración.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe geography teaching which was evident inside the contents of the scholar manual entitled: fiGeografía Superior de Colombiafl elaborated by Brother Justo Ramón, member of the Christian Schools, privileged a look over the nature, responsible for giving not only a positive, but also an economic value to the Colombian soil. The previously named contents emerged not only inside this congregation, but also it could be proved the existence of an atmosphere that, from the beginning of XX C, with the law 39 of 1903 and later on, with the arrival of the liberal Alfonso López Pumarejo, it was demonstrated a remarked interest by the executive power regarding description, appropriation and a posterior exploitation of natural riches of the Colombian territory. It is also showed how the geographic knowledge was a tool used by the Colombian government and the fiLasallistafl Congregation as well, to incentive the creation of empathy and national identity feelings. It was also elaborated some conceptions related to a complement of a vision regarding the population of the Colombian territory. It was clear the purpose of overvaluing positively everything that may come from the Spanish and the Conquest elements while the look over a Colombian aborigine and the population descendent from Africa, in slavery conditions, privileged an overshadowing and undervaluing process.
