dc.description.abstractenglish | From the arts that work with the expressiveness of the body, such as theater and dance, an effort is made to learn about human corporality following very different paths from those of the exact sciences, and even those of psychology and philosophy itself. However, in trying to show, in the form of a total act, the body and soul together as a unit, Grotowski faced an ancient philosophical problem, worked with a giant problem, somehow elaborating his own answer. Jerzy Grotowski, (1933-1999), actor and theater director born in Poland, together with other actors and directors, propose in the play Towards a Poor Theater (1992), a method for acting training that incorporates elements of the psychology of his time. , psychoanalysis and behavioral psychology. The body and psyche of the actor must function as a unit at the time of the performance and for this the Polish author proposes eliminating the physical and psychological obstacles that prevent the body from reacting spontaneously to external stimuli. The words stimulus and reaction appear too frequently in the method of Towards a Poor Theater (1992). It is possible to think from the time and Grotowski's knowledge of psychology that the Pole learned about psychological behaviorism and through his work with Stanislavski, he somehow incorporated it into his system. Theater takes elements from philosophy and science without becoming either of them, it preserves its essence as art while developing its own response. On the other hand, psychological behaviorism affirms that the human being is only a body, that by understanding the genetics and environmental history of people it is possible not only to explain, but also to predict and modify the behavior of organisms. In this way, understanding, imagination, memory, that is, everything related to human consciousness are explained as contingencies of reinforcement and operant behavior, that is, external stimuli that have been repeated and reinforced in different ways in the organism, establishing itself like this complex forms of response in behavior. Skinner tries to explain and expand Watson's theses. The American behaviorist affirms that behaviorism is not the science of behavior, but the philosophy of that science. Both authors, both Skinner and Grotowski, work on that dark boundary between the mind and the body, in addition to being contemporaries of each other. This work is a contrast between both works, looking for common points but above all a first approach to the question: How much did behaviorist theses influence contemporary acting methods and, consequently, theater, film and television? For this purpose, it is proposed to answer the question: Is there a behavioral influence on Grotowski? There are antecedents of the study of the relationship between Grotowski and psychoanalysis. This article is an investigation into how behavioral psychology is also part of the working method proposed in Towards a Poor Theater (1968), in the early phase of Jerzy Grotowski's work.
