dc.description.abstract“La heroica, un lugar de silencios”, tiene como fin materializar una propuesta artística por medio de una pintura instalativa que represente la memoria histórica, que está siendo olvidada en de diversos lugares de la Cartagena colonial, a través de la materialización de nomenclaturas que representan el suceso por el cual se le conocen a algunas calles de la Heroica – 3 calles específicamente – como también la realización de una red de pescar intervenida con chaquiras representando ese contenedor que retiene la memoria, un gran lienzo amarillo representado esa gran muralla llena de memoria y el amarillo siendo el color representativo de la heroica y las piedras, representado ese peso que tiene la memoria en el espacio. Tomando como referentes cuatro espacios importantes de la Cartagena colonial, o mejor conocida como “la heroica”, que son; “La plaza de los dulces”, “La calle de las damas”, “Plaza de la Aduana” y “La calle de la inquisición” que son espacios muy representativos y concurridos, pero que sus narrativas son omitidas y/o que no se le dan la importancia histórica que tienen. Este trabajo es una muestra de la memoria que es ocultada y omitida, que se va apagando por el paso de los años, por no darles el crédito que se merece. Atreves de este trabajo investigativo y de creación artística, en este caso una propuesta instalativa, se busca generar una discusión sobre la importancia de la memoria que estos espacios históricos tienen en el imaginario colectivo en la Cartagena colonial.
dc.description.abstractenglish“La Heroica, a place of silences” aims to materialize an artistic proposal through an installation painting that represents historical memory, which is being forgotten in various places of colonial Cartagena. This is achieved by materializing nomenclatures that represent the events for which some streets of La Heroica—specifically three streets—are known, as well as creating a fishing net intervened with beads representing the container that retains memory. A large yellow canvas represents the great wall full of memory, with yellow being the representative color of La Heroica and the stones symbolizing the weight that memory holds in the space. The piece takes as references four important spaces in colonial Cartagena, also known as “La Heroica”: “La Plaza de los Dulces” (The Square of Sweets), “La Calle de las Damas” (The Street of the Ladies), “Plaza de la Aduana”, and “La Calle de la Inquisición” (The Street of the Inquisition). These are highly symbolic and frequently visited places, yet their historical narratives are often overlooked or not given the importance they deserve. This work is a reflection of the memory that is hidden and omitted, which fades over the years due to a lack of the recognition it deserves. Through this investigation and artistic creation—specifically, an installation proposal—it seeks to generate a discussion about the importance of the memory these historical spaces hold in the collective imagination of colonial Cartagena.
