dc.description.abstractArqueología del garrote es un proyecto de investigación que busca a través de algunos vestigios, de fuente oral y material, de por si escasos, realizar un acercamiento histórico, tomando como punto de partida un territorio particular, el municipio de Piedecuesta en el departamento de Santander, en el que el apelativo garroteros, permanece latente en el imaginario colectivo de personas propias y foráneas del lugar. El garrote para los Piedecuestanos, además de haber sido un objeto de uso cotidiano para la realización de labores domésticas y agrícolas en la zona rural, fue el arma de defensa más popular en la zona urbana incluso desde la época colonial cuando Piedecuesta comenzaba a establecerse como municipio y en tiempos más remotos que en cada hogar y edificación se tenía mínimo un garrote y muchos de los habitantes llevaban uno de estos consigo por si se presentaba algún problema o enfrentamiento con otro u otros individuos. Aunque en la actualidad se haya disminuido el uso y fabricación del garrote en Piedecuesta este objeto es considerado una evidencia significativa de la memoria colectiva de sus habitantes. Por lo anterior, es preciso aclarar que este proyecto es realizado con fines artísticos, cuyo acercamiento tiene una apuesta museográfica cercana a la escenificación de la presentación de objetos arqueológicos para generar un enunciado que dé paso al juego interpretativo a través de la presentación de objetos como reconstrucciones modeladas.
dc.description.abstractenglishArcheology of Garrote is a research project that seeks through some vestiges, oral and material source, in itself scarce, make a historical approach, taking as a starting point a particular territory, the municipality of Piedecuesta in the department of Santander , in which the name garroteros, remains latent in the collective imagination of own and foreign people of the place. The bludgeon for the Piedecuestanos, in addition to having been an object of daily use for the performance of domestic and agricultural work in the rural area, was the most popular defense weapon in the urban area even from the colonial era when Piedecuesta began to establish itself as municipality and in more remote times than in every home and building there was at least one bludgeon and many of the inhabitants had one of these with them in case there was any problem or confrontation with another or other individuals. Although at present the use and manufacture of the bludgeon in Piedecuesta has diminished, this object is considered a significant evidence of the collective memory of its inhabitants. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify that this project is carried out for artistic purposes, whose approach has a museographic commitment close to the staging of the presentation of archaeological objects to generate an enunciation that gives way to the interpretative game through the presentation of objects such as modeled reconstructions.
