dc.description.abstractenglishThe work addressed proposes the implementation of the autonomous maintenance pillar described in the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology, for this particular case it will be applied in Group K, two Colombian companies dedicated to the transport of dry cargo with road tractors. One of the opportunities for improvement that can be found within this organization is the reduction of the cost per kilometer, derived from unscheduled corrective maintenance and which depend firsthand on an untimely alert by drivers or operators, when there is an alteration of the functionality of the equipment; This lack of communication of alerts is mainly due to technical ignorance about the equipment and its components, and on other occasions the idiosyncrasy of the driver. With the autonomous maintenance proposed in this monograph, the technical professionalization of drivers or operators is achieved through a complete training and training program focused mainly on the technical aspect and good practices that surround the maintainability of a tractortrailer. At the end of the implementation of the program, it was sought to reduce the cost per kilometer ($ / km) associated with unscheduled corrective maintenance, from $ 27.4 / km to $ 8.22 / km. This reduction in the cost per kilometer is projected to be evidenced by the end of the year 2022.
