dc.description.abstractLa reseña histórica de la maestría en administración del seccional Bucaramanga de la Universidad Santo Tomás es el resultado de un proceso investigativo que reconoce la trayectoria de un programa de posgrado que se ha posicionado en la región santandereana y el país en general. La investigación estuvo centrada en el papel que asumió la maestría para transmitirle a los líderes que formaría los conocimientos relacionados con la gestión administrativa, así como también el trabajo se enfocó en el posicionamiento del programa frente a problemáticas de la empresa local, las estrategias que estableció para la gerencia de los sectores productivos y las investigaciones que los estudiantes y profesores emprenderían para hacer de los conocimientos administrativos una herramienta importante para la sociedad en la que se encuentra ubicada. Como complemento de la investigación, la experiencia de algunos egresados destacados que decidieron participar de la escritura de la reseña histórica se adjuntó para exponer de cerca la opinión de quienes se graduaron del posgrado y así resaltar la relevancia de la maestría y los puntos en los que esta debe trabajar para alcanzar un nivel de calidad deseado. De esta forma se establecen algunas afirmaciones que denotan el posicionamiento como tradición administrativa de la maestría en Santander.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe historical overview of the business management MBA that the Santo Tomas University in Bucaramanga offers is the final product of an investigation that highlights the academic path that this career program has achieved in Santander and Colombia, in general. The investigation focus on the role that the MBA played in order to transfer the business management knowledge to the local society, the way the career has faced the local problems related to management, the strategies that the MBA created to solve the issues that have been affecting the local productivity, and the research experience as a tool for the society to understand their business reality. As a plus, the investigation had the opportunity to have the experience from people that graduated from the career and it made possible to show up the academic tradition the program has and the aspects it has to work on to get the quality level it wants to achieve.
