dc.description.abstractEl cáncer colorrectal es una neoplasia maligna poco frecuente que provoca un alto costo social y una alta morbi-mortalidad. Esta enfermedad tiene pocas estrategias en la prevención primaria y secundaria. A pesar de lo anterior, es bien sabido que la mejor manera de hacer frente a los tumores es la prevención y eldiagnóstico precoz. Para desarrollar estos programas, es necesario conocer los factores o características relacionadas con la enfermedad. Por lo anterior, se propone como objetivo de esteestudio para determinar los factores relacionados con el cáncer colorrectal en el Hospital Universitario de Santander (Bucaramanga, Colombia). Este hospital es el centro de salud más complejo en elnoreste de Colombia y tiene una población equivalente a la población de cinco departamentos, en los que existe poco conocimiento sobre el cáncer colorrectal. Esta encuesta pretendepoder establecer las características que permiten la identificación temprana de los pacientes con esta enfermedad, para proporcionar una mejor atención para mejorar sus resultados. Este proyecto ha sido diseñado siguiendo la legislación vigente (Decreto 008430 de1993), la catalogación de esta investigación con un riesgo menorque el mínimo. Con los resultados de esta encuesta las características de nuestros pacientes se dará a conocer, con la intención de desarrollar nuevos estudios y programas que permitanla identificación temprana de los pacientes con cáncer colorrectal,con la intención de mejorar su calidad de vida, la morbilidad y la mortalidad.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe colorectal cancer is a very frequent malignant neoplasm which causes a high social cost and a high morbi-mortality. This disease has few strategies in primary and secondary prevention. Despite the above, it is well known that the best way to face the neoplasms is the prevention and the early diagnosis. To develop those programs, is necessary to know the factors or characteristics related to the disease. By the above, it is proposed as aim of this survey to determine the factors related to colorectal cancer at the Hospital Universitario de Santander (Bucaramanga, Colombia). This hospital is the most complex health center at the northeast of Colombia and has a target population equivalent to the people of five Departments, in which there is little knowledge about the colorectal cancer. This survey intends to stablish the characteristics that allow identifying early the patients with this disease, to provide a better care to improve their outcomes. This project has been designed following the current legislation (Decreto 008430 de 1993), cataloging this research with a lower risk than the minimum. With the results of this survey the characteristics of our patients will be known, with the intention of developing new surveys and programs which allow identifying early the patients with colorectal cancer, with the intention of improve their quality of life, morbidity and mortality.
