dc.description.abstractenglish | Work, understood as a paid activity that brings together a compendium of its own abilities and characteristics, has suffered throughout its history a series of situations that have made its conditions precarious, making the worker a vulnerable focus in the face of the volatility of the labor market and its agents external. For the ILO, it is important to assess work from four dimensions: access to employment, social security, labor rights and social dialogue; they are understood as the axes that together provide wellbeing and quality of life to the employee and their family, as well as to the joint development of the territories, forming what is now known as Decent Work. The present work develops, through the methodology proposed by the ILO, the decent work indicators for the cities of Bucaramanga, Bogotá and Medellín during the period between 2018 and 2020. It is observed how by calculating them it is possible to perceive the incidence of this issue in three of the main cities of Colombia, presenting shortcomings in its application, resulting in the growth of job insecurity in factors such as informality, lack of income and unemployment. Through the theoretical conceptualization, the reader is induced to understand the socioeconomic context presented by the cities, continuing with the analysis of the indicators in order to carry out the comparative analysis of the cities in their periods and thus end with the conclusions and recommendations derived from the results of it
