dc.description.abstractEn la primera parte de este trabajo, se expondrán algunos de los principales aspectos de las teorías Cartesiana, Spinoziana y Jamesiana de la emoción, con el objeto de identificar, a partir de Descartes, un dilema metodológico que se debate entre los tratamientos científicos y filosóficos de la emociones. En la primera mitad de la segunda parte se abordará el componente científico del dilema; allí se examinará cómo la fisiología y la ciencia se entrevén en el pensamiento de Descartes. En seguida, se indicará el punto de disyunción metodológica a partir del paralelismo psicofísico de Spinoza, para posteriormente señalar cómo James hizo exclusiva esa disyunción con su teoría de las emociones-sensaciones. La otra mitad del segundo capítulo estará destinada al tema filosófico del dilema; inicialmente, se mostrarán algunos problemas inherentes a la tipificación de las emociones. Después se identificara en algunos razonamientos de Descartes un método de análisis conceptual conocido como experimentación mental, a partir de una posible interpretación de las Meditaciones Metafísicas. Finalmente, en la tercera parte se planteará la posibilidad de interpretar los juegos de lenguaje de las Investigaciones filosóficas de Ludwig Wittgenstein como experimentos mentales, con el único propósito de ilustrar cómo dichos experimentos pueden ofrecer una alternativa filosófica para el estudio de fenómenos tan complejos como las emociones.
dc.description.abstractenglishIn the first part of this work, some of the main aspects of Cartesian, Spinozian and Jamesian theories of emotion will be discussed with the purpose of identifying, from Descartes, a methodological dilemma which debates between the scientific and philosophical treatments of the emotions. In the first half of the second part, the scientific component of the dilemma will be broached; and there it will be considered how physiology and science is intermingled in the thought of Descartes. From there, a methodological disjunction from the psychophysical parallelism of Baruj Spinoza will be analyzed in order to later indicate how William James made exclusive that disjunction with his theory of the emotions-sensations. The other half of the second chapter will be devoted to the topic of the philosophical dilemma; initially, some problems inherent in the typification of the emotions will be displayed. Then, a method of conceptual analysis known as mental experimentation will be identified in some reasoning of Descartes, from a possible interpretation of the Metaphysical Meditations. Finally, the third part will consider the possibility of interpreting the language games of Ludwig Wittgenstein™s Philosophical Investigations as thought experiments, with the sole purpose to illustrate how these experiments may provide a philosophical alternative for the study of phenomena as complex as the emotions.
