dc.description.abstract	Este trabajo evaluó el nivel de cumplimiento de las normas técnicas NTS-TS 001, 002 y 004 en los establecimientos turísticos del centro histórico de El Socorro, Santander. A través de listas de verificación, observación y entrevistas, se identificaron avances en formalidad legal, pero también brechas importantes en sostenibilidad, seguridad industrial y gestión administrativa. Los resultados muestran que la sostenibilidad no está integrada en la operación turística local y que persisten debilidades en prácticas ambientales, manejo higiénico, formalización laboral y planes de emergencia. Con base en estos hallazgos, se diseñó un plan de mejoramiento que incluye capacitaciones, apoyo institucional y la formulación de un Sello “Socorro Destino Confiable y Sostenible” como incentivo para el cumplimiento progresivo. El estudio permitió reconocer la disposición de los establecimientos para aprender y mejorar, siempre que cuenten con acompañamiento técnico y herramientas claras adaptadas a su realidad económica y operativa. Este trabajo constituye un aporte práctico para fortalecer la competitividad del municipio y avanzar hacia un modelo turístico responsable, capaz de mejorar la calidad del servicio y proteger el valor patrimonial del territorio.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This study evaluated the level of compliance with the technical standards NTS-TS 001, 002, and 004 in the tourism establishments located in the historic center of El Socorro, Santander. Through checklists, direct observation, and interviews, progress was identified in legal formalization, although significant gaps persist in sustainability, industrial safety, and administrative management. The results show that sustainability is not yet integrated into local tourism operations and that weaknesses persist in environmental practices, hygienic management, labor formalization, and emergency planning. Based on these findings, an improvement plan was designed that includes training, institutional support and the formulation of a "Socorro Reliable and Sustainable Destination" Seal as an incentive for progressive compliance. The study revealed the willingness of establishments to learn and improve, provided they receive technical guidance and clear tools adapted to their economic and operational reality. This work constitutes a practical contribution to strengthening the municipality’s competitiveness and advancing toward a responsible tourism model capable of improving service quality and protecting the territory’s heritage value.
