dc.description.abstract	La educación en Colombia ha estado signada por las brechas de calidad entre lo urbano y lo rural, llevando la peor parte este último sector, según se evidencia en los resultados de las distintas pruebas internas y externas aplicadas en el país y que indagan acerca de los desempeños de los estudiantes en todos los niveles de escolaridad. Tal es el caso del Instituto Agrícola Nuestra Señora del Socorro, sede N, institución oficial, ubicada en Guaca, Santander, con modalidad de Escuela Nueva. Los niños presentan dificultad para comprender los textos que leen porque las prácticas de lectura en el aula son escasas y, si las hay, solo buscan la verificación de información explícita (nivel literal de comprensión). De otra parte, el material de lectura se restringe a las cartillas que entrega el Ministerio de Educación Nacional para estas instituciones. Por eso, el objetivo del presente proyecto, con diseño metodológico de investigación acción y enfoque cualitativo es: determinar de qué manera la lectura del libro álbum permite el desarrollo de habilidades de lectura crítica, en estudiantes de escuela nueva, del Instituto Agrícola Nuestra Señora Autores como Josette Jolibert, David Cooper y Daniel Cassany fueron el soporte para conceptualizar sobre lectura y lectura crítica; Fanuel Hanán Díaz, Yolanda Reyes y Evelyn Arizpe permitieron abordar conceptos relacionados con la lectura de imagen y el libro álbum.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Education in Colombia has been marked by the quality gaps between the urban and the rural, with the latter having the worst part, as evidenced by the results of the various internal and external tests applied in the country that inquire about the performance of students at all levels of schooling. Such is the case of Nuestra Señora del Socorro Agricultural Institute, N headquarters, an official institution, located in Guaca, Santander, with a modality of the New School. Children have difficulty understanding, reading texts because reading practices in the classroom are scarce and, if these exist, they only seek the verification of explicit information (literal level of comprehension). On the other hand, the reading material is restricted to the primers issued by the Ministry of National Education for these institutions. Therefore, the purpose of the this project, with the methodological design of research - action and qualitative approach are: to determine how the reading of the album allows the development of critical reading skills in new school students from the Nuestra Señora del Socorro Agricultural Institute "N Headquarters. Authors like Josette Jolibert, David Cooper and Daniel Cassany were the support to conceptualize about reading and critical reading; Fanuel Hanán Díaz, Yolanda Reyes and Evelyn Arizpe allowed to approach concepts related to the reading of the image and the album book.
