dc.description.abstract	Este artículo comprende la columna periodística "El Fotógrafo Fisgón" (1969-1974) como fuente para interpretar los procesos contradictorios de modernización urbana en Bucaramanga durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Desde un marco teórico que concibe la fotografía como dispositivo de interpretación histórica, se aborda cada entrega como unidad discursiva indisoluble entre imagen y texto, mediante una interpretación histórico-crítica. El lente de Eslava capturó la naturaleza heterogénea de la modernización, celebrando sus promesas mientras exponía sus exclusiones, superando así la función de "testigo mudo". En su columna Carlos Eslava plantea una pregunta vigente sobre el papel de las narrativas visuales en la construcción de la ciudad y su capacidad para revelar las desigualdades tras la fachada del desarrollo.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This article understands the newspaper column "El Fotógrafo Fisgón" (1969-1974) as a source for interpreting the contradictory processes of urban modernization in Bucaramanga during the second half of the twentieth century. Drawing from a theoretical framework that conceives photography as a device for historical interpretation, each installment is approached as an indissoluble discursive unit between image and text, through a historical-critical interpretation. Eslava's lens captured the heterogeneous nature of modernization, celebrating its promises while exposing its exclusions, thus surpassing the role of a "mute witness." In his column, Carlos Eslava raises a still-relevant question about the role of visual narratives in the construction of the city and their capacity to reveal the inequalities behind the facade of development.
